Boyd & Jan Harrell founded C.O.O.L. Ministries®, Inc. in the fall of 1999. C.O.O.L. (Christ Over Our Life) Ministries, Inc. is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization making a difference in the lives of many people both in and outside the Body of Christ who suffer with drug & alcohol addiction and or co-dependency issues. The Lord gave Jan Harrell these words: “Our goal is to put out the fire of addiction and start an on-fire desire to serve God.”
C.O.O.L. Ministries®, Inc. is a multi-faceted outreach ministry. We go to prisons, jails, drug treatment facilities and transitional living centers, carrying the message of hope and total deliverance from drugs and alcohol along with all their effects, through a complete surrender to Jesus Christ, with no more reservations, by truly crowning Him the Lord of all.
Boyd graduated from UHD in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science -in Social Sciences. He is also a Board certified faith-based Christian counselor in the field of Belief Therapy. Pastor/President/Founder of C.O.O.L. Ministries®, Inc. and received an Honorary Doctorate of Ministry in Restorative Justice from the Therapon Theological Seminary and Biblical College. More than all of that, he is a witness to what a complete surrender can do in a broken life.

Boyd Harrell says, “God took me from a mess to a miracle, from the problem to the solution. It only took one prayer to change a life time of heartache and pain.” After four trips to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and 12 ½ years behind bars between 1977-1998. Boyd says that with an addiction to heroin, cocaine and alcohol he fell on his knees and gave everything to Jesus with no reservations.
Jan Harrell too, surrendered all to Jesus while incarcerated in the Harris County Jail for almost 3-years. She has over 22-years clean & sober and Boyd has over 23 years clean, himself.
Today, this couple and a whole bunch of wonderful people the Lord has changed in similar ways are carrying out a mandate directed by the Lord to help hurting and healing people get into the living water of God’s Holy Word and meet their Healer, Jesus Christ, for real.
C.O.O.L. Ministries®, Inc., by the grace of God and through His loving kindness allowed the ministry to reach tens of thousands behind the walls and in the community. “We’ve seen the Lord heal marriages and restore families”, Harrell said. “It’s the Anointing that destroys the yokes and removes the burdens.”
